Dealing with your dog in its first year can be exhausting and involves a commitment from you to properly train your new puppy to behavior well. Every new dog owner experiences problems at the beginning. This is normal! After the “honeymoon period” of dog ownership ends (you know what I mean… getting pet portraits etc), the hard work really starts!
One of the common problems in your puppy’s first year is destructive behavior such as chewing. If you do not direct your puppy on what it can chew, its natural behavior is to grab whatever is in sight, shoes, pillow, your favorite stuff animal, etc. It is highly recommended to invest in plenty of dog toys like the ones found on sites like https://ninosjava.com.au to prevent any shoes from being chewed! Until your puppy is older and you can trust it to know not to chew, leaving your puppy unattended is just asking for a mess.
Leaving your new puppy unattended for a while is also a very dangerous thing to do, as it’s known they can wander off from time to time. As they’re so young and are wanting to get out and explore, it is recommended that they have a collar (you can check out needlepoint dog collars as an option) with a name tag on, along with a mobile number and an address if needs be. A lot of owners like to let their dog off the lead in a park, when they’re in an open space or there is no one else around, but you should not do this until your puppy is old enough and can be trusted so that they don’t run off. But always ensure they have a collar on with your details, just in case you were ever to lose sight of them.
