Healthy safe greens your dog will love!
We all want our furry friends to live the best life possible, and part of that includes what we feed them. Feeding a dog lots of human food is generally frowned upon, as their digestive systems don’t process certain things like ours, but not all human food is bad for dogs. In this blog, we will go over some of the human foods, specifically, greens, that are good for your dog’s short and long-term health.
Cucumber
Cucumbers are great for dogs as they are full of important B12, C, and K vitamins, along with not containing many fats, carbs, or oils. Cucumbers are also a great source of water, they are loaded with hydration that is great for your dog after exercising or being out in the heat.
Spinach
Spinach is full of vitamins, including A, B, C, and K, along with strong levels of iron. This means that spinach is great to spark your dog’s digestive system if they are constipated, along with providing a vitamin-rich snack. Spinach is best served steamed, not raw, to dogs.
Broccoli
Broccoli is most people’s favorite vegetable, and that includes dogs. Broccoli is packed with fiber and vitamin C. Besides being tasty, broccoli is a great way to introduce greens to your dog’s diet. It is best served cut up into smaller pieces.
Celery
Similar to spinach in its vitamin content, celery is the perfect crunchy snack for your dog after activities or on a hot day. Celery is packed with water and is great for your dog’s heart health. Just like with broccoli, celery is best served cut up into smaller pieces. To make your dog even happier, add some peanut butter to the celery sticks.
Green Beans
Green beans are a surprisingly great low-calorie snack for your dog. They are full of fiber and vitamins and are best served steamed. Make sure you give your dogs unsalted green beans for the best nutritional effect.
