Buddy is a gorgeous, 1& 1/2 year old Norwegian Duck Toller/Golden Retriever Cross begging for a home that will love him and never hurt or scare him again.
When Buddy first came to my sister’s home in North Palm Beach, Florida for fostering and training it was a good day because his other option was to dog heaven. Buddy doesn’t want to die he just needs another start in life with someone who is kind, gentle, patient and willing to continue his training. When he reluctantly came into her house Buddy’s eyes were filled with fear and mistrust and his tail was tucked under him as far as it would go. It took three days to get him to eat and let her pat him. Now, 2 weeks later he jumps on the couch and puts his head in her lap, he will give her a few licks on the face while he lovingly looks into her eyes. He lets her hug him and kiss him on the nose and touch him all over without hesitation.
He is %100 potty trained, crate trained, smart, loves to run, play, be petted and praised and does not chew on your belongings.
Now for his “issues”. He can be so fearful of new people that his first instinct is to flee but if that is not an option he will show aggression. Once he trusts people he will lean against them, take treats and allow them to pat him. He has the same problem when he sees new dogs. He is afraid and shows aggression to keep them away.When properly acclimated to other dogs like his pal Rusty, the other foster/rescue, he loves to play and wrestle.
